No, I don't drink. After a whole day of band, Raphael and I met up with Yaofeng and we went to Komar's house for his party. Knew none of the people there, the tables had nothing but alcoholic drinks left, and most of them left about fifteen minutes after we arrived, so it wasn't really a party for me at all. I did have a glass of milk and some cake, though. It was getting late, so we decided to hang over at Komar's house for the night(hence the title; I know that's not how the term is used), together with two other guys(another one of them did stay for a while longer, but he left soon after).

A soccer match was to be shown in about two hours from then, so the guys started having a very educational discussion regarding how to pick up ladies at the club. Yaofeng and I didn't really think the topics discussed really involved us, so we merely listened but didn't talk. Halfway through, I even played a Star Wars DVD to watch.

When the time came, one of the guys left and the match started. I watched my first match in a very long time. Manchester United versus A.S. Roma. Was pretty exciting, and when Dong Fangzhuo was sent in, it just got kinda funny when Yaofeng and Raphael started making fun of the only Chinese player in the match. After the match, we switched off the lights and slept.

When the sun was barely up in the sky, Komar's dog woke us up with its constant barking. The great resonance of the house didn't really help matters much. The maid took it out for a walk and we resumed our slumber. After that, we took off and Yaofeng and I headed home. I skipped today's sectionals. Heheh.

The Gaming Hermit

Well, staying at home all day playing old games and rarely leaving the house except for band practices is fun and all, but life is getting a wee bit monotonous and my social life is down in the crapholes.

Is this supposed to be a cause for concern?

I feel the need for something retardedly exciting to be in my life, be it something that happens to me, or something that I do myself. A "spark" of some sort, that would make me feel a little less pathetic than I do right now(not in a loser emo sort of way, but in a realistic sort of way). Kinda thought post prom would do the trick, but it turned out to be just plain retarded, not exciting.

So here I am, on a quest in search for this Spark. The thing is, I'm not going anywhere physically to find it. This whole thing is happening in my mind.

Travelling? Nah, I hate going to new places. Leading the life of a Playboy? Well, from my careful calculations, the chances of that successfully happening are about 12.5623 to 0(Don't ask me how I ended up with these results. The theories involved are so complicated that attempting to understand them would make your head asplode).

Ah, well. More solitary bus rides home will (hopefully) help me find the answers to my questions in life.

Games being played most often right now:
Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds,
Deus Ex *bow* and occasionally,
Claw, though I'm stuck at repeatedly trying to complete Level 10 without dying.

At least Brandon lent me his acoustic guitar, so I can break away from the computer once in a while to carry on honing my non-existent guitar skills. Got really huge and painful blisters on my fingers and finding it pretty difficult to type this entry right now(at least for my left hand).

Band practice tomorrow. I'm gonna be out for (insert Tarun's voice, complete with Indian accent) "THE WHOLE DAY!!!" due to both main band and alumni practices.

Why did they release the teaser for Deus Ex 3 so soon when the game will only be released in 2009? To make fans die from anticipation?

Post Grad Night Party

As big a mistake as it was a joke. Which was really big.

Should've stayed home and played Deus Ex.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail clips

Here are some clips from the great film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

This one revolves around politics, with subs included for those (myself included) who can't make out the long string of political terms the peasant yells out.

Ah, the Black Knight. Who could forget him?

And here's the scene where they find out ways to tell if a woman is a witch.

Pride - Shaaman feat. Tobias Sammet

Somedays I wish to run away
Fall in the world and stray,
My life is turning, turning

But when there's nowhere else to go
Pray to the Lord, my soul,
My heart is burning, burning

You betray yourself
When you think
That you're someone else

Someday I'll understand my dreams
So deep inside
And then I'm free again to leave
The pain behind
Right here in my hand
Feelings I can't hide
Someday I'm gone away with nothing
But my pride

Somedays I wish to run away
Fall in the world and stray,
My life is turning, turning

But when there's nowhere else to go
Pray to the Lord, my soul,
My heart is burning, burning

You forgive yourself
When you know
That you're someone else...

Someday I'll understand my dreams
So deep inside
And then I'm free again to leave
The pain behind
Right here in my hand
Feelings I can't hide
Someday I'm gone away with nothing
But my pride

Hock Lu's birthday

Went for GP and Computing lesson this morning. My morning was ruined by some arsehole rodent who couldn't answer a ridiculously simple yes/no question.

At least in the afternoon I got to study with some others and my day brightened up a lot.

Happy birthday, Hock Lu.

Looking at the things that have been happening around me, I realized I might be suffering from some fifth-almost-near-to-quarter-but-not-quite-there-yet-life crisis.

Going for NS next year and having all those tall and fit guys own me in every physical aspect is just gonna make things worse.

Be strong, kid.

Don't Know Much - Linda Ronstadt & Aaron Neville

Look at this face
I know the years are showin'
Look at this life
I still dont know where its goin'

I don't know much
But I know I love you
And that may be
All I need to know

Look at these eyes
They never seen what mattered
Look at these dreams
So beaten and so battered

I don't know much
But I know I love you
And that may be
All I need to know

So many questions
Still left unanswered
So much
Ive never broken through

And when I feel you near me
Sometimes I see so clearly
The only truth Ive ever known
Is me and you

Look at this man
So blessed with inspiration
Look at this soul
Still searching for salvation

I don't know much
But I know I love you
And that may be
All I need to know

I don't know much
But I know I love you
That may be
All I need to know

I don't know much
But I know I love you
That may be
All there is to know

The radius of my twin jewels are shrinking at an exponential rate each time I put up these gay posts, but at least the song is nice.

Up Where We Belong - Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes

Who knows what tomorrow brings
In a world, few hearts survive
All I know, is the way I feel
When it’s real, I keep my pray alive

The road is long
There are mountains in our way
But we climb a step every day

Love lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles cry, on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know
Up where the clear winds blow

Some hang on to "used-to-be"
Live their lives looking behind
All we have is here and now
All our lives, out there to find

The road is long
There are mountains in our way
But we climb a step every day

Love lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles cry, on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know
Up where the clear winds blow

Time goes by
No time to cry
Life’s you and I, alive, baby

Love lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles cry, on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know
Up where the clear winds blow

Love lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles cry, on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know
Up where the clear winds blow

That's right. I listen to pop ballads.

Oriana's Wrath - Aina

[Oriana: Sass Jordan]
[Syrius: Marko Hietala]
[Sorvahr: Thomas Rettke]

[Oriana & Aina Choir:]
Today we ride!
Today all wrath abides!
We ride to win!
We won't give in
We define the meaning of victory!

[Syrius & Krakhon Choir:]
Today we ride!
Today all wrath abides!
We ride to win!
We won't give in
We define the meaning of victory!

Halt! My fighters,
But who is that there?
At the defensive line rides
A maiden so fair
But, no, it can't be!
Yes, it is she!
Do not charge ahead
There rides my love

Halt! My people,
But what is this now?
At the offensive line rides
A face that I know
But, no, it can't be!
Oh, yes, it is he!
He holds up his hand
And calls my name

Oh, yes, it is Syrius
The Son of the wicked Sorvahr
Soon you will see
Soon you'll agree
He's not as you would think Him to be

My son, how dare you disobey me!
I sent you to destroy
Not to make peace!
I cast you down from the throne
Renounce your name as my own

You're truly a son of a bitch
I have no use for you
Now die!

Oh, no
Please, no...
This has gone too far
I have had enough!
You have made us bleed
All our world a ruin
I will not stand anymore!
Now see how it feels
I cast you down from your throne
Renounce your name ever known

You nasty, sick son of a bitch
I've no use for you
No pity for you
Your reigning is through
Now die!

Whoever said that women can't play a role in power/progressive metal? Well, actually no one did.

Shaaman videos

The drummer makes funny faces

It's really cool to see a guy play a solo and when he suddenly starts playing something familiar, everyone starts cheering real loudly.

Oh and check out this video by Dream Theater. As in really click on the video to go to the actual YouTube URL to see all the comments. Seems like this song has some really strong opinions for and against it. Some of them are priceless. Seriously, it's like a freakin' debate club practice inside there.

Teacher's Day celebration

Well there was the Teacher's Day celebration today. Preferred last year's one 'cause the performances for this year were not as good as those of last year's, (maybe except for the dance item, but I can't appreciate dance for nuts, and then there's also that damn hip emo guy who creeps the crap out of me) and the performances by the girls were pretty much dominating those of the guys, just by playing acoustic songs, and there's one of them (whose privacy I shall respect by not mentioning her name) who sang really well.

After that I went back to class to draw some of my really dumb trademark cartoons. The class was discussing about giving Yaofeng a taupok 'cause it's his birthday today, but I wasn't interested since I don't enjoy participating in taupoks.

Then came along my juniors who brought me a belated birthday present. It was a metallic rectangular pencil case with a big black bold "PENCILS" on it, (I know the effect of bolding the word doesn't emphasize the "black" part 'cause the text is white) with stationery and messages from them both. I'm not really into gifts that you can't eat, but it was pretty cool.

Then after that a group of us went to Far East so that some of us (excluding me) could have lunch before going splitting up into two groups and going our seperate ways. Aaron, Daniel, Faeliq, Huitian, Shern Way and I went to Paradiz for a "jam session". It wasn't really a jam session, though. The guys were just playing random stuff they could think up (including the super-cool techno hit, "Butterfly") and Huitian and I were just sitting there doing nothing. I couldn't really participate 'cause the guys didn't prepare any song to play together. (blardy hell waste my time. Next time haven't learn "A Change of Seasons" don't come talk to me hahas lolx jkjk)

After one hour of going deaf, we went to the comics shop at Park Lane so that I could check out any comics that would spark my interest. I bought a Deadpool/GLI crossover 'cause, well there's Deadpool in it, and also 'cause it's a one-shot, so there's no series to follow.

Skipping some scenes, Aaron, Huitian and I went to watch "Evan Almighty" at Cathay, (OMG he went to watch a movie!!!!1!!1!eleven!!) while Shern Way and Daniel headed home. I don't know where Faeliq went. The story was pretty shallow but it was enjoyable overall I guess. Then we went to Bras Basah and checked out guitars. Huitian headed home, but then some people from the other group came to meet us, and we hung out for quite a while before going home.

Wow, this post is pretty long.

Hot Pants: Enchilada Surprise

Yes, that's Steve Burns, the hot guy from Blue's Clues. Didn't know he was that good at acting. He's even recorded a couple of his own albums. Not exactly the usual stuff I listen to but still pretty cool. I mean, it's Steve Burns, man.

Man, was that date rough. Many times have I had to crap in public toilets while eating out, but nothing this rough has happened to me before, (except in primary school. Shut up, Aaron) hope this kinda "crap" (lame pun intended) doesn't happen to me on my first date, if I ever have a date.

Wishes revisited

I want...

- a better range and tone in French Horn and singing
- an mp3 player
- to stop being called a particular four-letter pejorative term that starts with "s" and ends with "t" on a regular basis. It was fun at first but it's getting really old. Most people don't do this to me except for one particular rodent-face whose only talent seems to be to annoy and/or stalk people, and he didn't even invent the idea.
- and a particular something to happen

Deadpool quotes

Here are some cool quotes by Deadpool in the great game, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.

Here's what he says in the training simulator. Try guessing the characters he's spoofing!

"The day my father Odin banished me from Asgard, I was bitten by a vampire and had radioactive waste dumped into my eyes. To make matters worse, my mutant ability to control weather activated just as I was hit by a blast of gamma radiation."

Ans: Thor, Blade, Daredevil, Storm, Hulk

Here's when he meets Edwin Jarvis, Ironman's butler, for the first time.

Jarvis: "A good day to you, sir. My name is Edwin Jarvis."

Deadpool: "Hello, good citizen. I'm... Captain America! You don't have to salute if you don't want to."

"I know Captain America, sir, and you are no Captain America."

"All righty then. I'm Thor! You might wanna kneel in my presence... I am the God of Thunder, you know."

"Ah, you must be the 'Deadpool' character I was warned about."

And here's a conversation with his old partner, Weasel.

Deadpool: "Weasel, old buddy! I haven't seen you in weeks. Where've you been hiding?"

Weasel: "In the hospital. You stabbed me in the leg, remember?"

"Oh yeah, that's right. But I had to... you were trying to eat the last cheesy puff."

"It was my bag of cheesy puffs!"

"Well, that's not how I remember it."

And lastly, an opening dialogue with Black Widow.

Black Widow: "Hello, Deadpool."

Deadpool: "Black Widow. I feel we've known each other long enough that I can ask you... are you putting on weight?"

Easily one of the coolest characters in the game.

Sign of the Cross/Pride - Shaaman

Featuring Mr Tobias Sammet!

Blardy Europeans so pro...

Eh, but only Tobias is European.

Er, never mind. Power metal rocks.

Last night I had a dream where I took up smoking and couldn't stop. Not sure how smoking makes one feel better, but in my dream, whenever I took a puff, I saw cute cartoons floating around me for about five seconds, which was pretty cool. Maybe it was marijuana rather than tobacco inside that cigarette.

Oh Japan ~Our Time is Now~ - TMG

Somewhere in the Land
There's a child at play
He's believing, dreaming
Spirit of the nation

Rising from the sun
There's a mountain high
The power, glory
From the heart of the country

Heroes all
Blazing into battle
Hear the call
Bringing it home is all that really matters

Flying through the sky on the wings of golden angels
Shooting for the stars
The night comes alive
Take me to place with the eyes of the world upon us
Waking up the fire
Saving the day

Standing on the Sacred Ground
Oh Japan our time is now

Something's gotta give
I'm a lightning in a bottle
Between the action, passion
I won't be stuck in the middle

Climbing from the clouds
With a torch held high
The power, glory
From the heart of the country

Heroes all
Light the rings of freedom
Hear the call
Giving us all a voice and a reason

Flying through the sky on the wings of golden angels
Shooting for the stars
The night comes alive
Take me to place with the eyes of the world upon us
Waking up the fire
Saving the day

Standing on the Sacred Ground
Oh Japan our time is now

[Guitar solo]

Heroes all
Light the rings of freedom
Hear the call
Giving us all a voice and a reason

Flying through the sky on the wings of golden angels
Shooting for the stars
The night comes alive
Take me to place with the eyes of the world upon us
Waking up the fire
Saving of the day

Standing on the Sacred Ground
Oh Japan our time is now

Somewhere in the Land
There's a child at play
Believing, dreaming
Spirit of the nation

Keep having weird dreams...

Chicken soup for the vertically challenged soul

Band practice today was pretty cool. Played Japanese Graffiti XI again, and it was fun watching Raphael spazzing out as he played his solo. Huitian added a cowbell part that was not in the score, and Sir even requested that she play louder(I almost typed "louser"). Argh, I'm feeling so damned jealous.

Well we went to Toa Payoh and I was given some leftovers to scavenge, and the biggest contributor was Lilian so I promised to give her some of my Bubble Tea. Totally forgot about it soon after and finished the whole damned cup, and was reminded by her too late. Argh, I'm feeling so damned guilty.

Ah well, there's always the next visit to Toa Payoh to settle the debt.

When I got home I saw this huge pot of chicken soup with lots of herbs and other random sh*t inside, which my father had my maid brew for me, 'cause he was told by our relative that it would assist me in my never-ending quest to hit the 1.7m mark. Well, first I would have to complete the never-ending quest to hit the 1.6m mark.

But it's pretty overwhelming to see that pot of soup. One whole pot of soup with a whole chicken inside meant only for me to consume. Luckily my father said I only had to drink the soup, which I did.

wtf kind of a dream

Hey Gang. Had a pretty weird dream last night.

Well the first part was some Seven Samurai thing which I can't really recall now, but it's okay 'cause the second part was crazier.

I'm in this big room and I see a "female" android becoming self-aware and attacking a girl, her owner. It was built to be the girl's friend. Now it's really mad at her and says something about their friendship being strained as the owner previously did not let the android be aware of its own existence. Well it's definitely self-aware and really mad now, 'cause she's seriously kicking the owner's arse. Well, actually it's kicking her arm. The girl cries from pain and sadness as she lies on the ground and tries to reason with the android in vain.

I couldn't take it anymore and went to check the girl's arm. It was really red and, being much more courageous in dreams than in real life when it comes to confronting robotic chicks, I decided to step in. The android is pretty strong for a girl(I think, 'cause the only girl whose strength I am aware of is my sister's), but weak for a robot. I pretty much kicked her ass, so I was feeling good about myself. The owner, however, is crying like no one's business.

Well no time to bask in the glory. A group of scientists and I brought the android's lifeless body onto a desk with the scientists attempting to reprogram it. I'm no scientist so I just stood there and watched.

Sometimes in my dream I experience time flashes, like skipping the boring part of the movie.

Well time moved on to when the reprogramming was done.

The android is now the size of my palm (wtf?! Is it supposed to grow bigger as time passes?). Well there certainly won't be any kicking of human arse going on now. Everybody doesn't figure out why it doesn't wake up though, and one by one they all leave. I stay behind and check the back of its head and push in the batteries a bit.

Great success! The android awakes like a newborn child. I carry it and go around showing everyone and looking for owner at the same time. The place is huge, and everyone is scattered all over the place. I finally find the owner and tell her the good news. She turns around and meets her "new" friend. Time flashes again and I see a group of cartoon people with superpowers flying up to the sky and attacking a menace that's terrorizing the city. That's when I wake up.

I woke up knowing both the android and owner in my dream are girls whom I know in real life and are great pals. I felt really crappy for beating up one of them.

Woo Brainiac

Brainiac is back on TV, along with their fetish for blowing up caravans. Tuesdays are gonna be a lot more fun.

"Forced" to do this.

These are the rules: Each player of this game starts out by giving 6 weird things about themselves. People who get tagged need to write in a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rules clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. After you do that, leave them each a comment letting them know you tagged them and to read your blog!

1) I read wiki all the time but never have I edited any of their articles. I'm like Uatu the Watcher, sworn only to observe and not make any changes to what I observe, except without the oversized physique and even more oversized head. Oh and if you're interested in knowing who Uatu is, you should go check out wiki.

2) I once thought I was good-looking (I know, what the hell was I thinking?)

3) I may be a fan of Tenacious D, but I only have three of their songs (Tribute, Wonderboy and Friendship, the last one thanks to Ronald)

4) I like introducing bands that I like to my friends but they usually end up having more of the bands' songs than me.

5) Believe it or not, I do have my emo moments, but I'd rather listen to others confide in me than the other way around.

6) I actually agreed to do this. And at this time, too.

6 people to do this:
Let's end the suffering, shall we?

Gotta wake up pretty early tomorrow for that opening/welcoming ceremony thing.

Stupid robots

Well we have a (big?) problem for tomorrow's performance. Two things which kinda pissed me off:

1. One of the teachers in charge of the event has informed us that for "Tribute" we have to change the word "demon" in the lyrics to "creature", 'cause she feels it could be a little inappropriate for us to say "demon" in a Catholic school.

2. Zhao, our bassist, might not be allowed to play with us due to his new JC not allowing him to skip a few hours of orientation to come back to our college to play.

Well here are my responses:

1. Obviously, the teacher has NEVER heard "Tribute" before and has no idea that the demon could arguably be more important than Tenacious D themselves in the song. D fans going for the event would be extremely pissed that the main character of the song would have to be converted from a demon to a "creature". How vague could "creature" get? What the hell's a creature? An elephant? A yeti? A mealworm? A teacher? My sister?

Lighten up, man! God wouldn't strike the school down for saying ONE word ONCE which is linked to the Devil! That is the only word in the entire song which specifies what the antagonist of the story really is, which is a demon, not some dumbass "creature".

Guess what. If we are allowed to play tomorrow, I'm still gonna say "demon". Haha take that, stupid robots!

2. First off, let me say that "orientation" is a friggin' waste of time, when people like me do nothing but get humiliated as we are forced to play dumbass games and do a really lame dance to pop with members of the opposite gender against our will, and allowing just one student attending it halfway to go to another college to play rock wouldn't kill the principal.

And also, the teacher said that even if Zhao got an MC to skip school, she wouldn't have him play onstage in our college 'cause this might put our college's reputation at risk.

Wtf?! What reputation? Our college is full of "jia kan tang" people who think they are of a higher class as compared to everyone else in school. And also the one with the most "A"s, and I'm not talking about the grades here.

So the plan is to still have Zhao get an MC to give to his college and somehow sneak him in to our college to play. If the plan fails and he still isn't allowed to play with us, then the Vacuum Cleaners aren't complete and will not be appearing onstage to play at all. Sorry if we have to disappoint all our friends who bought their tickets to watch us, but we can't really do anything about it.

If only the world wasn't so filled with robots.

No, this is not some emo post. What the hell's wrong with you?

I wanna get a new skin for the blog. is full of crap and they give me really dumb results. I type "Dream Theater", they give me gay crap like "dream of you and me" and other stuff like that. Actually I would prefer a Ghost Rider skin but they don't have any there, so I guess I'll have to make one of my own. However, I lack the technical skills in making a blog skin (actually, I kind of lack the technical skills in anything (actually, I kind of lack the basic skills in anything) ) so I guess I'll have to learn from someone. But not now.

Exams are coming.

Time for me to confess to everyone my love for one which is very dear to me. If you truly do not wish to see this as an emo post, then don't highlight the "invisible" text below. However, if you believe in true love, love that lasts forever, love that exists even for someone like me, hold your breath, hold down your left mouse button, and move the mouse down (or you could press Ctrl+A)

I love.........

Cheese. Seriously, this is not an emo post.

Oh, and I'm starting to love Sudoku too.

Ronald vs Yong Sheng

Here's a video of Ronald and Yong Sheng playing "Street Fighter" in class. I always knew this game existed but never knew how to play it. Now I know half the rules

IHPC Seminar

School ended at 12pm for me today 'cause my class went for a seminar at the IHPC (Institute of High Performance Computing). The stuff they talked about was mostly chemistry stuff, which had nothing to do with what I'm learning. I spent two hours trying to stay awake, but I failed and slept a bit.

Well, at least there was food there. Lots of it, in fact. Wish you could have been there, Aaron.

Oh, and another thing; another band has already decided to play Tribute by Tenacious D, so we won't be able to play it. So sorry to disappoint you, Jade.

Haha YouTube has Monty Python and the Holy Grail split into ten parts for me to enjoy.

Today's band orientation

I'm pretty good at double whacko.

That hunter game is so dumb that I lost like three or four times.

Bentoh and the new kid Jeremy and I should form a boyband or something. Our chords are pure "OWANAGE".

Happy birthday to Ivan and Madison.
